Cool, remember when Trouble-shooting start with basics. Air, Fuel, Spark.

I know when I got into my mustang, I had forgotten about actually "pressing the accelerator" after so many years of FI cars

well, i tried to start it and after some cranking, it sounded like it wanted to start, then back to cranking, then to start, then cranking, then I stopped so i wouldnt kill it. I assume i didnt have enough gas for it get up and running. I'm gonna get a new fuel pump and i'll tell you all how it works out.

EDIT* It's ALIVE!!! thanks guys. I got it running for a few moments then it died but ya, its definatly gas. Thanks again.

Good. Now make sure you have at least a few gallons of gas in the tank, change out the fuel pump, and put on a new gas filter. Depending on your carb, the gas filter is located right where the fuel line goes into the carb. There might also be an inline fuel filter as well, so follow the fuel line from the carb to the pump to see if you find one there too.

Great! Glad to hear you got her running. Now, before you replace the anti-freeze 50-50 mixture, I would recommend an engine flush. But, don't flush the heater core as is recommended by the flush products. Leave your heater off during the flush. The reason, is that those old cores will spring a leak once the acid gets in them and they are a booger to replace. The little bit of old fluid and water in the core won't make that much difference in the flush process anyway. Keep us informed with the progress of bringing that old girl back to life.

And replace all your hoses while you're at it! It's a lot cheaper and less embarrassing than getting towed home.

and especially the bottom one. Make sure it still has a spring in the hose so it doesn't collapse because of a rusty spring.
