Miserable Day
Your original post should be mandatory required reading for every kid/guy that comes on here wanting to buy a classic Mustang. Sure, it's fun half the time, but the rest of the time you're looking for the nearest used car lot to drop her off at.
Edit.... there was no mention of blood.... so how bad could it really be?
Today while reinstalling my T5, the air ratchet ran down one of the pressure plate bolts faster than I expected. The torque from the air ratchet caused the ratchet to start spinning instead of the now tightened bolt. Before I could release the palm trigger, the air ratchet spun my left middle finger knuckle across the fingers of the pressure plate. I finished installing the clutch with blood dripping off of my elbow before cleaning the cut and realizing that when peeled back, the loose flap of skin on my finger revealed bone white knuckle.
You gotta love it.....

well the good news is all the bad parts failed at once instead of one week after the next....get it over with quick.
I suggest going with the t5 over the rebuilt c4. It cost a little more but I wish I had done it the first time and not dicked around getting the c4 rebuilt..Just my .02

I really wish I could afford to put a T5 or an AOD in it, and I would really love to be ableto shift my own gears. However, I don't really have the know-how to swap them out myself. I have a neighbor that is an excellent mechanic who is willing to rebuild my C-4 and add a shift kit for only the cost of parts probably. Oh, and by the way, the only other vehicle I have is a 2003 F-150 FX-4 Ext. cab (no Chevy's).
Imagine if the brake line had busted when you were in traffic. Somehow I think you were very lucky that you
had a small bit of bad luck to save you from major bad luck.....................
I think all classic owners should spend time looking under the car for the next "problem." When you get really
good at doing that you can mod some problems into the car and then not be surprised when they finally let go...........[sm=alcoholic.gif][sm=alcoholic.gif]
