Default randomonium in the engine

ok, i just got my mustang and found that it looks like several things are missing, i found some but others I need some help with. The directions below(left/right) are if you were looking at the car form the front

this pic is of the back left of the 351W engine
http://home.comcast.net/~rigoberto13/1.jpg

this is on the left side of the air filter, i believe the filter is form when the engine was a 302
http://home.comcast.net/~rigoberto13/2.jpg

this is just some random hose coming from under the air filter and to the left of the carb., it looks like it was ripped off form something

thanks for the help

The fitting on the valve cover should connect to the fitting on the air cleaner that is held on by the metal clip. That is your crankcase breather that was used for emmission controlled cars.

It's been a long time since I worked on those so my memory hasn't come back about the other fitting. Is there a canister low on the inner fender or frame rail that isn't hooked up also?

The one on the left of the second picture is the crankcase ventilation, and should have a filter inside the air cleaner housing. The one on the right most likely hooks up to the PCV valve. Look at the bottom of the carburetor to see if there is a hose going to the PCV valve. If so, then I am guessing wrong.

He has two open connections on his air cleaner. The one to the right is what I thought might hook to a vapor canister.

Soaring is right if you have a fitting on both valve covers one is a PCV valve.

ok, the one on the left is probably the vent. the one on the irght may go to the PCV valve, but from the PCV valve, a hose already connects to the back of carb. Keep in mind that this is a 302 air filter but a 351W engine. Is it possible that I don need the one on the right?

If you have the PCV hose going into the bottom of the carb from the PCV valve, then you probably won't need that one on the right. Do you have the cannister still on the car? It might be for that.

Well, In order to fix my confusion and make the car more complete, im getting a new air filter assembly for a 351, but I didnt get a chance to check for the vapor canister. I don't believe there was one, but I wasnt really looking hard enoguh to know. Also, is the fitting in pic 1 a PCV for the other side? or what?

There should be a place on the passenger side exhaust manifold where that tube pushes in. It was to supply hot air to the choke coil.

There should be a paper feeling hose that goes from that fitting in pic#1 to the fitting on the air cleaner that is held in with the metal clip in pic#2.
