odd, screwed up question
No idea where to post this. Okay, I've never done an engine swap, but figured I'd just jump right in and do it. I pulled out the blown 302, and dropped in a 351w. All of that went smoothly, got the right flex plate for the AOD tranny, no problems. Now, I'm down to the small stuff. How does the distributor mount? I can't find any pictures, I have a bracket that I believe came from the 302 so I don't even know if it's the right one. I can't post a picture right now, unfortunately. It's a C shape, with an extra piece coming off of the curve with a hole for a bolt. Ya, a big help there, I know. But that's the only piece I have. If someone could just get me a picture of what it's supposed to look like mounted, that would be awesome. This will probably get moved to the right section, so email me at antisocialwill@hotmail.com please.
I figure people do this swap a fair amount, so here would be a good place to ask. After all, I got the windsor from someone planning on doing the 302 to 351 swap. Thanks.

that small piece is what you use to bolt the distributor down to the block. Next to the hole where the dist goes into the engine there will be another small hole that threaded, thats where the bolt goes to mount that small piece in to hold down the dist. make sense?
yep,, just make sure that the distributor is on #1 and the engine is on TDC#1 of the intake stroke and drop it in. but first fill the motor with oil and stick a socket into the dizzy hole and prime the oil pump backwards (counter clockwise)so that you have a little oil circulated around the motor when you start..
