Default ford 292ci

my grandpa gave me a really rough 1957 ford station wagon country sedan. its been sitting for who knows how long in his rental house backyard. im guessing he parked it about 20-25 years ago. theres also 2 model A's in pieces and a complete 1975 chysler cordoba. hes gonna give the cordoba away and he gave me the wagon and my dad will probably get the A's when my grandpa dies since my dad is the car guy of the family. but probly not for 10 years.

anyways hes got all the parts for the wagon and the motor is in the car but the tranny is not. i belive the tranny was rebuilt and has been waiting to go back in for the last 20 years [&:] lol. anyone ever built a 292 or seen a built one? im thinking i will either want to rebuild the 292 or turn the car into a strip car with slicks and a big block . im thinking the strip idea is better cause the floors are gone in the front and i could build a cage and custom floor.

and the door jambs are gone with rust.so i need to find a another car as a donor or somehow fix this one.

phone pic.

my grandma used this as her daily driver when my dad was a kid. it was the family car. kinda neat.

The "Y" blocks have potential. When I was a lad, a guy had a '49 sedan with a 312 that screamed. TheI and my friendshad 3 different Impala SS 327 300 HP, and 2 different 283 Malibu SS, none of us could touch him. There was one guy I didn't know real well that came close with a early Nova SS 327 300, but still couldn't win.
I've seen some speed parts lately, too, but I can't remember where.
Also check around, a friend recently built a '57 Fairlane, and the fenders are very hard too find in decent shape, as is that big flashy side trim.
