I never used it because my plans changed. 50,00 volts and accuracy up to 7,500 rpm's!

RE: Selling the HEI Dizzy
Ok for some reason it will not let me PM you about this so I'm just going to flat out ask it.
What is the difference in an HEI Distributor and just a regular one? I read on the internet that it has a mechanical vacuum advance...what is that? I read on your ebay page that it was for a 289/302 which is awesome because thats what I have. It is completely bone stock though is that going to make a difference? How easy is it to install this?
I feel like a gigantic Noob for asking all this but I simply do not know.

RE: Selling the HEI Dizzy
The HEI eliminates the points and condensor, which always needs adjusting.
The vacume advance is adjustable but i am not sure how it exactly works but you use a small allen wrench through the vacume hole to adjust it. I think you can regulate how much it advances by making the adjustment.
The HEI was the mainstay distributor for chevys in the late 70's- into the 80's but the gears and shaft lenght was modified to fit the Ford small block. There are other style of electronic ignitions out there but this is one of the least expensive for the bang.
If you are trying to keep its original look then there are other ways of converting your original dist into a pointless one.
