If you do paint the bumpers remember you have to strip the chrome off them and then normal body work applies.I have wondered what all the window trim would look like powder coated black or a gun metal color.
how do you strip the chrome? can you sand it off or does it have to be chemically stripped.

But i wanna keep the horse, and i dont like how the 67 horse sticks out so far, as far as the aftermarket, didnt know about that. Its been a few years since I even thought about the grill setup to be honest.

That reminds me, that was the other thing I couldnt think of earlier that i powdercoated flat black - the grill trim. I went with a black and white theme with that car inside and out.

did you powder coat over the chrome or did you strip it?

I powdercoated over it, on everything. The kit that I got from eastwood says that you dont need to strip the chrome to powdercoat. Just make sure that it is really clean. I have had good luck so far, its not even coming off the handles which see more use than anything else.

here is mines painted gloss black. im not finished with the black but here is where i am at now. just have 2 black out the grill and the small back windows 2 be just about finished. and i put a lil chrome under the hood.

I painted mine red to match the body, looks great and cost $10 not bad for rusted bumpers
