i'm tired of seeing these holes on my firewall. it is a 1968 mustang coupe with a 289 auto. does anyone know what goes on these two holes for sure. I am contemplating things, but dunno.

there is one hole above and below the brakeline on the passenger side firewall.

and if the holes arent being used, you could weld em shut for a cleaner look. or find some universal grommet plugs to fit.

 

oh and i just looked at my car, and theres no holes like yours. but theres some little dimples in the same exact spot as yours so i can drill holes if i wanted.the lower one is for a clamp to hold the brake line up i think.

 

Are they the holes where the lines would go for the heater core to and from would go?

no the heater hose holes are right next to the heater motor hole. theyre about 1" in diameter.

his looks like 1/2".

yeah my bet is someone drilled the holes to mount lines or hoses.

 

the heater core lines are bigger and over more to the left. these holes are too small. the bottom one is definitely a clip cause i just saw one somewhere else on the line. the top one could be for a strap or something, but i will find some plugs small enough for them.
