Default RE: 68 mustang brake light problem

But why would the lights not come on when I used the wire to complete the circuit?

If you used a jumper to bypass the brake light switch and the lights still do not come on then you have an open somewhere in between the brake switch and the tail bulb on the brake light circuit.

Well I got pissed off and went and bought some wire. Spliced it into the power out side of the plug wire, ran it into the trunk, spliced it into the two bulbs and now everything works as advertised. So im officialy finished with this ****. Untill something breaks again. Thanks for the help.
