Default gauge cluster removal

I have a 70 mach 1 that I'm redoing I want to remove the gauge cluster to clean the lenses they are filthy or replace them whichever needs to be done. can anyone tell me how to remove the bezel to get to them. I see 3 screws on the top but nothing else. I removed the 3screws but still is not coming loose. Thanks

Hiya. don't know abut the 70s mustang, but in the earlier ones you have to climb down and disconnect the speedometer cable first.
i guess it's the same on yours. if it's still fixed then you're mising screws, if it is loose but comes out only by an inch ior so then speedo cable is your problem

I can't give advice about the 70's either but on 67 and 68's there are two more screws in the lower part of the bezel and a stud with a nut behind it on the right side. You're probably just missing a few more attaching points, keep looking.

You need to disconnect the speedo cable... it holds it VERY snug onto the dash... it sounds like youve gotten everything else.

Not to hijack this thread but I was trying to do the same on my 69 coupebut it looks like I will have to remove the dash pad first. Any one have some advice on this I would love to hear it.
