Just bought 1966 mustang and wold like to learn how to modify engine to 4bbl. Any good reference books or websites that can direct a novice? Want to also detail, spruce up engine with chrome valve covers, etc. Any good starting point is appreciated.

you have a 2 barrel?? to go to 4 barrel all you need is a intake manifold, 4 barrel carb, intake gasket and carb gasket. you also need to take out your distributor of course. so youll needa timing gun and some that knows how to use it.. and a thermostat gasket.


and to detail the engine, just bag and tape your air cleaner or take it off and bag the carb. then your distributor. sprayer down with some degreaser and pressure wash it off. then find a non silicon tire shine.(non flamable) and spray everything for the shine
