Default newbie question here...

hi all, I have a question... haven't done any of my own maintenance on my cars since high school... but, now that we have a 1968 Mustang Coupe, I want to be careful about things. a couple questions:

1. any antifreeze work better than another? recommendations? (still mix 50 50 w/ water?)
2. can you just "add" cans of gas treatment into the tank? (I do it on my daily driver already)
3. tranny/radiator flush... is it safe to have a reputable repair facility do them?

any help would be appreciated... again, don't want to come off like a dumb***, but I love my new baby and want to treat her good!!!! [sm=bangbang.gif]

1. Not really.Green parts store brand.Yes.
2. Yes, but add them before you fill it up, that way the gas going in will mix it all up.
3. As long as its a recommended shop that works on older cars as well as newer ones (or just old ones), then you should be fine. These arevery easy tasks that you could do yourself if you really want to know the truth. If you want to try it on your ownwe can give you some help here, all you gotta do is ask .

all of the above and ... yah. you can do all that yourselves.
i usually don't care much about empty or full with gas treatment as 1 mile driving shakes the thing through anyway
all easy

i sometimes use lead additives. they are not actually lead, but I don't know if the valve seats I have were hardened. So that's why I use that stuff.

I would also suggest using lead additive, and don't worry about doing it on your own, I've found it can be easier than you think. Good luck.
