We have three cars and two car garage. The 65 and 05 stay inside and the 99 Cherokee sits in the drive. When I work on the 65, the 05 has to move outside to give me enough room. I have considered the lift but if I use it for the 65 any car below it will get a bath in transmission fluid, at least right now, unless the lift has a solid floor. I have 14 feet of height but my garage door opens at standard 8 feet or so. I would guess that is changeable.
The lifts come with a "drip pan" option that ensures fluids from the car above won't leak on to the car below. You can also place a sheet of plywood in between the ramp sections for added protection. You stated that your garage ceiling is a lot higher then the when the 8 foot door is open. If you have enough room you can put the lift in "side ways". Another lift option are caster wheels that allow you to roll the entire lift with car on it around your garage. The car on it will be in the down position. This enable the casters to contact the ground and lift the four posts. The lifts aren't bolted to the floor. You can remove and install the caster wheels in a matter of seconds. So if your garage is deep enough, you can park the car on the lift and then spin it around so that two other cars can stick their front ends beneath the lift. When you want to drive your car, you lower the lift with the casters on it and spin it around so you can drive it off and out . With the lift at the back of the garage, the garage door is totally out of the picture.

It's no wonder you're suckin' for space....with two vettes in the garage. Your dad is obviously a Bowtie man and you have strayed from the flock....

Oh god ya, its a chevy family. My brother has a mustang, but his dream car is a 70something chevelle. I like chevy, just not as much as ford. But I cantblame my dad, he hasraced Vettes his entire life. He has a picture from about 20 years ago in which he has a 56 Vette with BigAss racing Slicks on the back tires and a hugehood scoop. Its a BEAST
