Default finsihing up engine compartment. problem starting back up

well some of you remember that i started to strip my engine compartment to paint it and freshen it up.

heres a pic while i was re assembling my wires etc. etc.

my problem now is that it wont start. it will crank, but its not starting. i played with the gas, checked all my wires. and made sure the battery was good.

the lights work etc etc.

any ideas? maybe theres something you guys ran into when you disassembled your engine compartment.

First step.....

Use a test light/meter to verify you're getting power to the coil.

My preference,First step , check for spark out of the coil wire while cranking. if no, then check for coil voltage and points operation. if yes, squirt it (carb throat) with starting fluid. If its in time, it'll light off.

The easiest way to do that is disconnect a spark plug wire from a spark plug and have someone crank it while you touch the metal prong to determine if there is any spark..........

If you can lick your finger and be standing in a puddle of water, the verification is more "pronounced".
