Door Opening Dimensions
Does any one have a mustang chassis book that tells you the door opening dimensions for a 67 convertible?
If you could please tell me what these dimensions are it would be HUGELY apreciated.

3/16ths of an inch.... or the equivalant of the thickness of the disposable paint stirring sticks that you can get at any paint supply store. While you're hanging the doors, tape pieces of the stirring sticks along the rocker and rear edge of the door opening.
As an example, if you look very closely around the hood of my '66, you'll see where I was using pieces of stirring sticks to set the hood gaps.

im sorry while that is usefull information i am far from hanging the doors =-l
perhaps i should have been clearer, right now i am installing the inner rockers and the car appears the be bowed in the middle, being a convertible and all =/
and what i need to know is the opening (between the hinges and the latch...striker?...thing or some measurement to that effect berfore i weld the rocker in with a bowed car.

I don't have that info, but I know where it resides.... in thechassis manual for that model year.... but you probably already knew that.
A way forward is to temporarily re-hang the door, set your gaps and then tack weld a brace into the door opening to stiffen up the body while you're working on the rocker. If you suspect that the car is bowed... and you're replacing the rocker... you need to install this bar anyways.
Sorry,
Dave

HAHAHA i knew i should have put those braces in BEFORE i took the old rockers out, o well i work in a body shop with a full frame rack, ill get it straight somehow, but thank you all for the help.... anyway i think i know how to get it straight without the measurements. correct me i i am wrong but i think if i held a straight edge or possible a string against the outer rocker and pulled the car on the frame rack untill it was straight then weld the inner rocker in in that exact posistion i would have a straight car? input please
Joe67,
Did you have any luck finding those measurements??? I am in the exact same situation with a sagging 67 convertible that I want to soon start on. I do have the 67 Chassis assembly manual and the Body assembly manual, but they don't contain the measurements you and are are looking for. I want to get the door opening braced to the proper specs before I start on any of the structural repairs.
Thanks

Wow this came back from the dead, someone knows how to use the search button around here =D
This is how i detemrined a car to be square, through many measurments form many show cars (more are sagged than you think), i did not get any actuall dimensions from the door opening because when i did my inner rockers i found out this is not what sags and closes.
i will draw you up a diagram in a few minutes though, it is a semi complex thing to try to explain

HOLY CRAP i hate the mac verison of paint
but here it is
top is what you want
bottom is what you dont (exaggerated of course)

hold a straight edge or a taught string against the bottom of the rocker panel on the pinch weld if it is concave, you are sagging, paralell to the string you are good, and in one case i saw convex, i think they tried to fix a sag and overshot it.
if you are sagged plase pm me for instruction (at least what an icar certified auto body frame repair technition told me) on how to straighten
