Default C4 leaking

It's hard to tell if the pan is leaking, to me it looks like the oil is coming between the bell housing and block, could my torque convertor leak? My transmission has been rebuilt, but he use the torgue convertor that was inside, the mech told me it was ok. Should I have replace it with a rebuilt trans?

I was going to replace the oil pangasket this weekend, just tried of the quarter side oil drops in the garage. While replacing the oil pangasket I wasthinking of add a Transgo shift kit to it, it is worth adding?
Thanks

You should ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS change the torque converter when you rebuild a transmission. PERIOD. There is old fluid in there that could be burnt/contaminated with old clutch particles and there is no way to get it all out, even if it is flushed. Ifthe fluidis coming out of the bellhousing, it is more than likely the front pump seal leaking (which requires removal of the trans to fix). There is really no way for a torque converter to just start leaking, if it wasn't leaking before, it shouldn't be leaking now. However, if it is a stock converter, it will have a drain plug in it which is accessable through a hole in the flywheel, so you may want to check it out.Take the inspection cover off of the bottom of the bellhousing, if you see trans fluid in there and the drain plug is tight, the trans will have to come back out to replace the seal andfix the leak.

The guy who rebuilt the trans never said anything about replace the convertor, unless it was in his price. I paid a guy 250 to rebuild the trans, that was labor and parts. I guess I need to go back and see if he replaced the convertor. I thought they were pretty expensive anyway?
Thanks, I will remove the cover to see if that is were the oil is coming from.

No, that wouldn't include a converter. Thats the going rate to build a C4, but usually the customer has to provide his own converter. Im not sure why the guy didn't tell you though. We do not warranty the transmissions we build at the shop I work at if the converer isn't replaced. If it is acting ok, and seems to be pulling fine/shifting good, you are probably ok, but lesson learned, never reuse an oldtorque converter in a rebuilt transmission, ever.

By the way, you can get a remanufactured stock one for less than $100 at any parts store or transmission supply house such as Dacco. And if you want one with a higher stall, you can get one from ACC converters for about $250 shipped, just depending on what you get.
