$2800 Craigslist Find.
I went to go look at it (http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ctd/844743564.html). There was almost 0 rust. New exhaust, rebuilt trans. Everything looked pretty damn good. He didnt want me to drive it. I guess me being 17 kinda turned him off, he said **** about his insurance. He took me for a drive in it. It was nice. Ive never been in a classic stang before so I didnt know what to expect or look for, or what is out of the ordinary and what is normal. The pass. seat is ripped, and my friend told me that when he backed out of the driveway the reverse lights didnt go on. He showed me all the electrical stuff worked like the blinkers and lights. The engine looked clean, with some new parts. He said it needs a tune up since he hadn't driven it or worked on it in a while, and doesnt drive it much. It started up on the first try both times he started it when I was there. My neighbor is a mechanic and works on older cars all the time, so I am going to see if hell come and check it out with us. The paint is a little worn, but its not faded or corroded in any spots, just old paint. He told me that when he got the car from his cousin 16 years ago the floor pans were already redone. It was a nice car all around.
I really only like older cars, and I know that they can be expensive. It might sound stupid, but I like hardly any newer generation cars. Im just trying to get into cars, and I feel like an older car like this is a good intro into mechanics and car related ****. Plus, Ill only be driving this car for about a year, then I am off to college, and the car becomes my dads until I return. Or maybe Id sell it, who knows.

Has no vinyl top.
The back up light problem is probably just a bad switch, not a huge deal. Besides my back up lights don't work and I'm perfectly fine with it.
You can get a kit to re-cover the seats yourself and it's pretty simple to do, so that's not really a big problem. I'd say go for it, but it's really up to you.

If your serious about investing in a classic car, Because thats what your doing"Investing" Money and more importantly your TIME. because you will be working on this car. If you dont have someone exsperieneced to help you, its easy to be taken advantage of. i was with my 66 stang. After i bought my first book on restoring a mustang. They all usally have the first chapter on "How to Buy One" with good tips, Like exactly were to look, bring a screw driver to poke the rust, ect. These books are usaually around 13-20 bucks. Yes you will get alot of great advise on this forum, but you will be buying one of these books anyway, so do your homework, before handing over your cash. Hell take your own pics, then post em here for us to see!, good Luck!
I think i sense some blue blood in your viens!

I brought my fathers friend who lives up the street. He is very much into classic cars, and works on them alot. He checked EVERYTHING. I have another friend up the street who has his own finished garage and he is a mechanic. I will hopefully learn everything from these guys, and it will be a great experience. 200 dollar deposit left. Picking up at his house tomorrow, 6500 dollars. We tried 5500. Was too low. Someone else offered 7000 but he said first come first serve, he needs the money and thought I was a good kid. Tomorrow I will be a proud owner of a 1967 Ford Mustang.
