Default Insulation

I know that this has been talked about a ton already, but without the search function working I have to hit it again. Is fatmat what most people are using for insulation. I see it on ebay for $90 for 100sq ft.

Thanks.
John

Yes

that is the way to go. that is what i did and i also bought mine on ebay. it is really quite easy to install. it works best when hot and when you cut it into pieces about 18" x 18". it is very sticky.

the 100 sqft roll willl give you enough to cover the entire interior and the roof and the trunk with a little to spare. I have installed it in those places with exception to the trunk. i just havent got to it yet.

I used fatmat, really like the results. 100 was enough to do the firewall, floor, wheel well humps, rear seat divider/framing, backside of interior quarter panels, the "sail panels" (i guess thats what they are), and the roof. Doubled up alot in some places. Also did the gastank top and area above differential but no more in the trunk. I figured it could be as noisy in there as it likes, aslong as it doesnt make it through that divider/framing...

I went the inexpensive route with Peel and Seal from home depot/Lowes. Basically same stuff as those other expensive sound dampening materials at a lower cost...wish I could find the link to the "sound dampening showdown" which describes the various materials...
