65 Mustang disc brakes
Good Morning.. I purchase a kit for disc brakes for my '65... It's option 1 from discbrakeswap.com... Does anyone have picture with they installed the distribution block for this setup.
Thanks...
Thanks...
i think I got swap.2 kit. But it should all be in the documentation.
I do not know if the following applies to you, but that was my setup old and new....
old setup was single bowl master cylinder. This has only ONE brakeline going to the distribution block.
in my case it entered the front of the distribution block.
From there I had 3 more connections.
One to front left, one to front right and one to the back.
Making 4 connections in the distribution block
with my new setup I got a dual bowl master cylinder that had 2 exits.
One port at mastercyl closer to the firewall (for the front) which will feed the front lines
one port at mastrecyl more forward to the front of the car whjich wiull feed the rear brakes.
As I now had a dedicated feed for the rear brakes I had to connect the rear brakes to that as opposed to the distribution block. Inbetween that I hooked the proportioning valve and pressure regulator
The feed for the front wheels (which is at back of master) now goes to front of distribution block.
As this only feeds the 2 front wheels the 4th port that originally hooked up the rear is not needed anymore and can be blocked.
I hope that makes any sense to you.
I had to give that a long good thouight before I started cutting brakelines and replacing them
short story:
before my single master fed the distribution block, which feed 3 exits: 2 fronmt, 1 back
after my dual master fed the rear directly as well as the distribution block that only fed the front wheels. Therefore only needing 3 ports instead of the 4.
There should be a plug in your kit to close the 4th.
I do not know if this answers your question, but that was the thinking I had to do in my case
In any case if unclear copnsult with Dennis. He's very helpful

That seems like a weird way of doing it. Looks like you would want to get a proportioning valve with 5 ports in it and run all the lines through it. Do your brakes work good kalli?
