I would restore a restored r code is worth more than a rodded r code, anyway r codes are very cool original, just my .02 though.

I would do some mods to the car but not anything that cant be easily changed back to original. Keep ALL the old parts that are removed in case you ever sell it.

+1 to that

but I think you should just keep it as original as you can, cj cars are bad *** enough you don't need to mod it.

I would limit any changes to minor ones and keep all of the original parts. A 'r' code car is rare enough especially on a 69.

I have took a different route as my car is a vanilla mach H code and a resto mod conversion wont really kill the value nearly as much as your car would.

Sell it to someone who really wants it. Take the money, dump in a call you can go wild in.

That is one to keep original, buts thats just me. Provided you have most of the correct parts. Otherwise it can and will be a VERY expensive restoration. For a "Resto" driver, I would seek out a "Common carrier" and cut the crap out of it. Something else to check for is, was it a "Drag Pack" car and the build date. These are even more rare and usually in the 6 digit area if done well.
