wait, is it hooked up right? the tube from the radiator is supposed to be going to the bottom of the tank and at the top is a tube that overflows to the ground if the bottle fills up too much. It looks like you have your radiator filling it from the top, which will hold the fluid, but the fluid will not return back into the radiator. By having the filler tube at the bottom, when it cools down it will be sucked back up into the radiator

If it pukes coolant, the radiator is too full. It should only be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the cores when cold. The large upper tank on the down flow radiators is the expansion tank. Funny thing is, modern cars have gone back to the expansion tank in the pressure loop. Seperate from the radiator as they use cross flow radiators now, but the same thing happens when folks fill those up to the neck as well. They puke. The water expands when it heats, it has to have somewhere to go. Its supposed to expand in the upper tank. The tube is an overflow to get rid of excess.

My intention is just to use this as a puke tank not for recovery. No I don't think the radiator is too full as I can see the cores with the cap off. Took it out for a hundred mile run today to and from the Canadian Ford Truck Nationals (Dads truck won an award) and it worked perfectly. So far so good. Just don't know what I'll do if it gets full, but then it's only two nuts to remove.

i like it, if it wasnt black, it wouldnt work\

i can 1 up you though, back when the mach was stock, we took it to the strip, and during tech the guy noticed we didnt have one, here was his solution, he chugged the rest of his monster, zip tied it in the engine compartment, and pujt the overflow line into it.....
