Question Best Engine Paint Color?

Besides Ford Blue what is a good idea for a color scheme? Does Black dissapate heat faster or what? I've heard so many different ideas what's your opinion?

I think that would look decent. I'm just trying to decide a color that wont make the block super noticable, but then again it wont rob my engine of hp cuz of heat.

I never liked a block that was ford blue. Its just not the "theme" i want with my stang. i want mine to look like it didnt just roll off the line. its got some custom touches here and there. I'm going for a sinister custom look not a complete stocker.

I went with black for mine. I personally like the look especially since I went with the cobra dress up kit.

if i was to start my engine build over i wouldnt paint my motor id powder coat it.

black holds heat in, lighter colors dissipate faster

black actually takes heat out (flat only). you feel the heat on a black shirt because it dissipates the heat. reflectiveness is a different story. that is why they paint radiators and headers black.

to tell you the truth, i don't believe in all that paint color stuff. my motors all run within normal operating temps. no matter what color.

I don't think a layer or two of paint on a inch or more thick cast iron block will affect any head dissipation at all, side by side two different colored engines will probably handle heat just the same
