Just drove the car home for the first time. It's needs a huge bath, Interior cleaned and the crome polished. Looks to be 100% original. Motor is strong as heck.

By next weekend it will be on here. it's been raining all day.

Get a manual for your specific year of Mustang. Through the years, and even within specific years, they were all wired differently. Some got the ground from the firewall, and as Mustang 1969 shows it as the blue wire is attached to the solenoid ground on the fender well.
What's up with that southern engineering? And others got the ground from the battery negative terminal. Spend the 40 bucks to get a manual.
The diagram I showed was from my 1969 shop manual

And yes, I know my car is jerry-rigged. That's why I have a manual

It just so happens there is a sticky at the top where I posted some.

https://mustangforums.com/m_518910/tm.htm

Check them out and order some catalogs. Most are free, a couple are under $3.

Scroll down for the link to NPD too

I agree about the wheels. Those look like wheel covers straight from Wal-Mart. Sorry Man, I couldn't help myself. And those tires are slickern' a gut. That would be my first expenditure. Get some Mag 500's and some Goodyear tires.

I totally agree, but that where the tires and covers that came with the car when my dad purchased it back in 1995. Until now Walmart never looked so good

Compounding and repolishing (and replacing) the crome, then the tires are next. What the best stuff to use to repolish the crome? Do you have a good source for keeping the wheel and tires original, so it least you can stop laughing (j/k). That what i did when I saw them to.

Do you want to go concours, and keep the wheels and tires original? If so, just keep the original steel wheels, and try to find hubcaps for a 69. I use the Maguires 3 step cleaner, polish, wax on mine. They also have a chrome cleaner, but just about any chrome cleaner will do the trick. Or, use 0000 steel wool, or Brasso.
