Default fuel gauge

My fuel gauge was not working so I did the ground test and the niddle went all the way to full, leading me to think the sending unit was bad so I replaced it. Now the tank is full of gas but the gauge only shows a quarter tank? anyone have any ideas? thx.

what size is your tank?

are you sure you have a matching sending unit?

are all the wires clean?

Sounds like one of those Chineese senders.

Still sounds like a bad sending unit. Try checking if you have a good ground on the tank with a volt meter. Go from the ring around the sending unit to clean bolt on the car..
