Default Worth checking out?

Hey all. Ive been looking for a mustang for a little while now, and came across this. What do you all think?

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/cto/808113928.html

I also found it on eBay with more pictures.

Found it weird that there is an emblem on the back that reads "mustang". As far as I know that it not standard, but whatever. Besides that, anything out of the ordinary? Anything bad? Im new to mustangs in general. Give me some feedback, and if its worth checking out/ worth the price hes asking.

I don't that rust by the trunk looks pretty bad, and you can bet that wouldn't be just that section, there's probably more. The passenger side door is aligned horribly to, IMO it might be worth checking out, but I would keep looking because you can find a 6 cylinder auto car for a much better price.

Classic mustangs are incredibly common, you could get one in much better shape for that kind of money if you're patient. And who wants a V6??? get a damn V8, its a mustang for petes sake

Since the car in in New York I would be really cautious about rust.
I'll give the guy credit for pointing the rust spot but that could be the tip of the iceberg. It may have rust under the vinyl top. Look for uneven lumps in the top or splits along the seams.
Look under the car for signs of rust or repair. Look in the trunk drop offs for rust or repairs.
The seat covers can't be sewn because the material is torn not the seam.
The dash is cut because of the radio.
What's up with the snaps on the chrome trim? Did the guy think it was a boat?
I'm always suspicious when someone did something weird things like that. What other goofball stuff will you find.

Why didn't the guy give a partial vin?

In the southwest, I would say the price is a bit high, like 2 grand high, but I believe the prices are a little higher on the east coast. Some one else can comment on that.

Its I6 not V6... And some people want one. For all we know he could be looking for a I6. A Mustang is a Mustang, doesn't matter what engine is in it.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will take everything that was said into consideration. There are a limited amount of nice mustangs for sale around here. I havent seen much new on Craigslist/eBay for almost 3 weeks. I did just see this though.

A little more than I want to spend, but its nice.
