Noob w/Parchment Interior Question
Hello All,
First post here. I've been lurking for a while...there's alot of great info here.
A little intro. I'm in the process of freshening up a 67 coupe. It's a two-owner car and has been in the family since the 70's. It was my Mom's daily driver for years. It's been sitting for about 10 years and I've taken it on as a project. Candyapple red with parchment interior and a 289 under the hood. I'll get some pics posted soon.
My question is this. I am putting a new interior in and I have TMI seat covers and Scott Drake paint from the gang at VA Mustang. I shot the doors and rear seat panels yesterday with the paint that is listed as Light Parchment. It is a significant contrast to the tan color of the seat covers--almost a grey color. IMHO it a bit mis-matched but I'm curious as to whether or not this is correct.
Here's a crummy cell phone pic of it. Doesn't look so bad in the picture, but the paint has much more of a gray tint vs. the tan of the door panel.

It looks like it matches the original paint that was on the doors and the seat covers/new door panels are a pretty good match to the old ones. It just doesn't look quite right.
Anyone else run into this or have pics of a completed interior with the contrasting colors? Thanks.

Wow, that DEF looks wrong. VA Mustang are good people. I'd call them, ask for an email addy to send pics to, and ask what they'll do to help, since it is clearly NOT correct.
Thanks Waffles. I've already talked to them and since it's sprayed there's nothing they can do. I looked on their website and it looks like the parchment for '66 might be a better match. Don't know why it'd be different since the upholstery colors are the same as far as I know.
I've got a great paint guy here in my home town and he's got and old book with color chips in it. I'm going to take one of my new door panels down and give it a look-see. Maybe I'll have him mix me up some if it looks good.
Thanks again for your reply. I'll let you know how it goes.
