It may need trimmed some, if you have the old one, use it as a template to see how close you are.

that's the problem, i have no original to go from. only a chunk of it because it had choppy carpet from the previous owner and a chunk of the original left in it.

just so we're clear it installs like this, right?: package tray, side panels, seat, done. on a 1968 coupe.

Does it need to be put under the lip of the window seal/trim? Thats how my plastic 69 had to go in..

Default Cutting required for mine

I used a putty knife to slide mine under the rear window gasket. But I then had to trim a half inch or so off the straight side with a jig saw and then cut a notch in each corner where the shelf butts up against the lower window corners. Not much of a "goes right in" thing, but they seldom are. I also covered mine in vinyl that matches my rear seats but that's not factory.

i got a steel one.. hell that thing didn't even fit. i made mine out of wood and coated it with carpeting and drilled my speakers directly to it. works great.

i had to slide it under the window seal. i figured that out by forcing it back. you guys were right on. everything is nice and looks good. i got the vinyl wrapped one because i couldn't find one factory with precut holes. anyway, thanks for the replies. i only had problems with the holes not matching up so well. i used some grills that i had from my 68 dart gts (put factory tray back in with integrated perforated speaker holes). i shouldv'e used sheet metal screws to mount the grill instead of through bolts because it was hard as i had to do notch the corners to get them in. if i do it again i will have the factory grills anyway.

Factory ones didn't have holes... that may be why
