Default 64 Merc Comet K code

Is there anything special about a 64 Comet K code. From what I have read it is just
a 289 4 barell. Does anybody have any info on the specs of this car.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, very special. The K engine code designates the same 271hp 289 that make K code Mustangs special. They're rare, and were quite the performer in their day. They were essentially the same motor used in 65-67 Shelby GT350's.

Comets aren't in quite as high a demand as Mustangs tend to be, but a K code Comet is definitely a find. I'd gladly drive one

Yes, very special.
+1.

One of my very best friends growing up had a bright red 4-speed K code '65 Comet Cyclone. We all had muscle cars but there was absolutely something very special about that car. Very, very special. I think it had to be it's ability to pull better than 7,000rpms. It flat out screamed, and my friend hammered it constantly. It was a thing of beauty.
