i was wondering whether i should buy a flowmaster super 44
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=FLO-942548
or this dynomax right here
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
the thing that sux is that i dont have a lot of money to spend on mufflers, so the dynomax seems pretty good, but is it a good muffler to buy? i know that the super 44 is clearly a superior muffler

I would go with a Flowmaster 40 or Super 40 instead, I've heard people say that the Super 44 is a little too loud and crackily. Although that Dynomax doesn't seem too bad for the price, I'd see if there's any reviews of it on google.

Was just in talking to my muffler guy last week. He said Flowmaster's patent on the Super 40 ran out so they started calling it the Super 44 and marketed it as being "the loudest ever"
so what many people don't know is: Super 44 = Super 40
While this was a brilliant move by Flowmaster, it doesn't change the fact that the 40s sound amazing, exactly the way a mustang should sound imo. Get some long tube headers and run 2.5" pipes into 40s and you will not be disappointed, trust me

I have the exact same system on my 2004 gt and my 66 mustangs both sound great.
Its the American Thunder series 40's dual chamber.
My wife always gets the stop light thumbs up in the 04.
I parked the 2 side by side let them idle and I couldnt hear the 04 running next to the 66. lol
Guess the Cam in 347 makes a lower meaner louder tone, But they are the same 2.5 and exact series 40. You would think they would sound identically the same but they dont.
Both kits fit perfectly very clean with nice bends. The 04 was a true bolt on.
The 66 I had to fab from a mac h-pipe I had to fit my Mac shorty headers.
The flowmaster kit didnt come with down pipes due to the many styles and options for exhaust on the old mustangs.
I cut the ball ends off the mac pipe and welded it to the Flowmaster h pipe the fit is great now no leaks.
I was well pleased with the quality of both kits.
I have a big 70 series on my ram 1500 4x4 it sounds sweet too.
Only other system i would get other than flowmaster be the Magnaflow, but to pricey for my budget.

I just got my motor rebuilt and was wandering about the 40s or 44s. I want to be able to drive and here the mean sound of the exhaust, but I also want to be able to listen to a little music with my wife. Also I want to be able to turn some heads when I drive by. Any advice would be great thanks.

If you want a muffler that performs well get Hooker Aero Chambers, or Borlas. The Hookers are reasonably mellow, loud gets old after a while and will start to irritate you and the police. As far as exhaust flow and performance, Flowmasters suck. You might as well shove a towel in a 3" pipe and attach that to your headers.
