Unhappy Leak on Passenger Side

I searched for a thread about this, and couldn't find one, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat.

I recently got my engine rebuilt, and I got the A/C fixed and running. Well, I've also noticed that something keeps leaking onto the passenger floor. It drips from the vent, it feels greasy, and it's starting to make my car smell a little funky. I have thick towels on the floor right now to catch it. What could be leaking?

Also, while I'm running the A/C (sometimes even when I'm not, though it usually coincides with the leak), there's smoke/steam coming from the vent on the dashboard. First time I saw that, I freaked out. I thought I was going to drown (yes, drown - it's crazy!). I'm not sure what it is. To me, it smells like coolant, but someone was saying it might be freon. Is this related to the leak?

-Anyway!- If anyone has any information on this, I would like to get it taken care of as soon as possible.

My sig tells what car I have, but I'll say it anyway:
It's a '66.

Sounds like a leaking heater core.

Yes ...heater core. And the Freon would be gone and the AC would quit working within about 20 min.

Well, the A/C still works gloriously, so...it's not freon?

Heater core... Is it leaking coolant? I'm somewhat new to the mechanics of a car. Learning as I go.
Also, how would I go about fixing this problem? Do I have to replace the heater core?

One way or the other you should fix it now.

Being in Texas and seeing that it's September so you don't need the heat...
If you just want to stop the leak, take the two hoses going to it and attach them together with a pipe and some clamps.
Check the coolant.

Or you could buy a chilton's and replace the core yourself.

Or you could take it somewhere and have it done.

Whatever you decide to do, just leaving it the way it is and topping off the coolant would be a mistake. It sounds like a large leak as it is and could get MUCH worse and leave you stranded.

Relax magiusavvail it's not too complicated to pull out a heater core, but if your not to confident go to a radiator shop . They will pull it and recore it for you. Not an overly expensive fix. By the way... your baby is nice.

Thanks everyone, I'll get right onto it. I'll probably take it off and get someone to recore it. I've already had to top off the radiator again. I had to fill it up not too long ago, before that...

Thank you~
