Default turn key engine

Hello,

Iam looking to get a new engine and new transmission (5 or 6 speed) on my 67 stang.

I would like a turn key ready engine (ready to go because i have no time and space to work on my mustang (i have way too many projects right now))
I would like the engine to be smooth with plenty of power (with a light clutch action so my wife can drive the car)
The engine should be good for commuting and have a decent gas mileage
the engine should also be reliable

I am open to everything !

Thank you

There are several places on the net that sell "crate engines"...might try ATK for example.

This is a good one. Might be more than you want to spend but have several good reviews and they've been building crate engines since the 70's

They also have Fuel Injection setups if you want and will help match the engine to a number of transmission options.

It's the one I was looking into before I bought my car and found they had already spent a lot of money on the engine.

I understand about you not having enough time. I work several jobs currently, have a new house and no tools...but I do have the car.

This is the place I work you can get a turnkey 347 for about 4K but I'm not in sales so don't quote me on that. Also the dyno guy has a side business selling trans and drive train setups to match our engines. But I don't know anything about his prices. but you could get motor trans. and anything else you need in 1 crate.

I know I still can't figure out how he can sell they for that parts alone add up to almost what the prices are and he doesn't cut corners on anything. I machine the blocks so I know they are nice (no sleeved cylinders or any cracks anywhere).

sorry if it seems like im hijacking the post but mustanglover if it isnt too much could you pm me price for a t5 setup from him - bare bones to setup to one of your guys 347 stokers. I've been seriously looking at you guys for a while now and have been looking for a tranny too. Sounds like a cheap yet reliable way to go.

A stock T5 isn't likely to hold up to a 347 for long. Even a mild 347 build will exceed the 330 ft-lb rating of a T5. If you want something that's going to last, look at an AstroPerformance T5 upgrade kit, or a TKO (which will require some tunnel "modification")

Like I said the trans. and drivetrain stuff is the Dyno guy's side business. I don't much other then he does it and sells alot of them.

Would a ford racing t-5 tranny hold up to a 347 stroker in a 65 mustang?
