Default coil over question

is there a complete coil over setup for less that $2k? i think it'd be almost necessary to upgrade to it since i want my car so low.

and i see mustangs with the shock towers cut out, what kind of setup are they running then? i know ive seen it before but i cant picture in my mind or remember for the life of me how they set it up...

I think I have seen some towers removed because they were running mustang 2 suspension. I have been trying to figure out how to make my own coil over setup due to the cost of the ones I have seen.

Cheapest i know of is http://www.ronmorrisperformance.com/...ode=Susp_Parts there is no need to remove the stock towers unless you want a big block or mod motor any small block fits fine the 351w and 351c are both tight fits tho.The mustang 2 kits are about 2 grand up but you gotta weld it in or pay someone and you gotta change oil pans and headers to clear the cross member.

1. will those ron morris coil overs work with a shelby drop?

2. would i be better off with the RM coil springs + a shelby drop, or is it worth upgrading to the full tubular RM kit?

^ I would think so. It doesn't seem like they wouldn't.

Most aftermarket control arms are designed specifically to be used with the drop, and will include instructions specifying this. If not the standard 1" drop, than often 1.5 or 1.75.

yeah i know the tubular setup requires a 1.75" drop. but my question was would the individual coil springs that andrewmp6 suggested work with a shelby drop. and now that i think about it, it would most likely work better than if the CA's were at stock height.

but, 2. would i be better off with the RM coil springs + a shelby drop, or is it worth upgrading to the full tubular RM kit?

Tcp coil overs you can get with a drop bracket for the upper arm so you get the shelby drop and no drilling.

I'm not really a huge fan of coilovers that bolt to the UCA. All that really does is give you a little bit of spring adjustability, but it sacrifices suspension travel and doesn't do what a good coilover kit should do: move the spring force to the LCA for more leverage.
