Pulled the engine this weekend and...
It's been awhile since I posted progress on my 68 Coupe. I bought the car last year, but with one kid getting married and the other starting college, car spending was put on the back burner.
When I picked up the car the previous owner had included a painless wiring harness with the explanation that the car would randomly stall. He had really gone to town and cut ALL the wires out of the car.
I found his problem this weekend. The main problem was that the starter ground post was damn near falling out, the secondary, and the easiest to over look, was the ground strap wasn't grounded, it was loosely screwed into the firewall, and my girlfriend said it just "slid out" when she pulled on it.
I really feel for the guy. He gave up this car out of frustration. Remember kids, go for the easy solutions first.
Kudos to my two ladies, my daughter and my girlfriend. My daughter pulled out the rest of the interior including the headliner (Which tool Dad? Here, take this knife and this sharpy, cut it out and mark the holes) and my lady removed the accessories in the engine compartment including the rusty freakin' headers.

I keep telling my wife I'm going to buy her some work overalls (mechanic jumpsuit) and let her just stand in the garage from time to time with the car...you know get her use to it.
Ironically her father was a mechanic growing up and her and her brother have more tools than I would know what to do with. He knows and tinkers.
They even have a media blaster...
Of course all the tools are in Texas and I'm in Alabama. So my car is at the shop and I'm working to get it out.
Finally got a price on what I still owe to get it out...about $500 more dollars and I should be able to drive it from time to time.
