guys with the 65 need your info
im getting a 65 stang its a v6 but im gonna put a v8 in there but i wanna go 302. i'm just not sure it will fit not planing on putting a/c so i know that saves some room but any of you guys know about this?? Thanks in advanced for your help. =)
A lot more is involved than just dropping in the motor. The 4 lugs will have to be upgraded to a 5 lug. which means v8 spindles, v8 spindles mean v8 steering componets. Then you will have to swap out your rear end, which means a new drive shaft as well. v8 drums will need to be used if not going to disc brakes. Larger radiator will be needed. A new bell housing if your keeping the c4.
If you go with a 302 get a late model roller block 5.0.
Much better off buying a stang with a v8. If you already have the i6 sell it and buy one with a v8. I did this swap because the car has sentimental value. Turned out to be very expensive.
