I know that i need to buy a new core obviously but should i look into just tottaly redoing the heater and buying the new hoses and all that other **** while i already have torn apart
I plan on redoing mine this winter because I have no heat. Looking at what has to come apart , the time involved, and the cost (not to hurtful) I plan to replace everything while I am in there. If one part has gone bad I figure the rest can't be too far behind. And since it has to come out anyway put it back new.
Did this on my friends 66 last fall. We removed the heater case replaced all of the door seals and the heater core. Put on new hoses and I dont think it took us more than 3 hours.
think.. heater blower motor,,,also the next time mine goes,,I'm gonna have a welder add 4 or 5 inches to the nipples of the heater core so I can replace the heater hoses with out tearing into the heater box
