Default Window Channel rust?

I have a rusted through hole about the size of a silver dollar in the upper right side of the front window channel. I will try and post a pic soon. My question is since it is in an ackward location, what is the best way to fix? Could I practice with lead filling there? I really dont want to replace that particular section because of its location, only because I am a beginner welder. Any thoughts?

I would probably try welding in a new patch panel. Pics would help.

My body shop was able to patch the corners of my rear window channel. Since its such a small spot maybe it would be best to have a pro do it so then you have real metal there and have no worries
