Default Anyone know if this ground wire really exists

I believe I found what appears to be the remnants of a ground wire where the front valance meets the front fender near the turn signal on the passenger side of my 65. It was actually in the joint between the valance and fender. Anyone know if there really is/was a ground wire of some sort there?

I have took apart a few originals and have not seen a wire or strap. I'm not sure what purpose it would have other than radio inteference. And being that low may not even do that.

Thanks. The previous owner was an electrician, so maybe he did something out of the ordinary. I'm not going to worry about it.
