crazy question,..

66 mustang GT,...everyone knows about the dim rear lights,..turn signals, brake lights, and driving lights,...

so here is my idea,...take a set of 66 mustang back up lights in the lower rear valance,...

remove the stock socket and put a 1157 3 wire socket in,...install RED LED 1157 bulbs

have the lights come on when car is in reverse
have lights come on when driving lights are on
and have lights hooked up to the brake lights also,..

my question is,..would this be possible number one?
would i be ok to splice into the existing harness..

the car came stock with back up lights, and the wiring is already in the trunk, i would tap from there and tap the tail lamp harness

 

Anything is possible. Personally, I would just upgrade the tail lights to LEDs and be done with it.

 

but its cool to be different,..hmmmmm

 

I added Sequential LED lights from Va. Classic for about $125. They were plug in, easy, look and work great, and are bright.

You will need to use some diodes to prevent circuit backfeed (you don't want the driving lights to come on when the car is in reverse). Easy to do and you can get them cheap at Radio Shack (1N4001).
