Mine's my daily driver in the summer, spring, and fall. It sits when there's snow on the ground. I'm able to muster out 15-17 mpg if I'm really nice to my little 302 with a 4-speed.

Also, I didn't mention this before, but it's easy not to worry too much about damage or theft because I have full coverage for EVERYTHING, for less than $500 a year, and I have a $100 deductable. I've been driving 18 years now, never had an accident, and am married, over 35, have garage, etc. For $100, when a shopping cart hits my car, I just file a claim and get the door painted. If the accident or incident is not my fault, Insurance law in CA says my premiums may not go up.

I have filed 14 claims so far for people hitting my car, mostly minor like a hood crunch. I even get a free rental car (same class car, usually a v8 new Mustang or once a Dodge Durango Hemi!). I also have uninsured motorist, and casual driver coverage in case I lend the car to a friend.

CA is great for car insurance. Here's some trivia: The state with the second most number of vehicles is New York, with a grand total of 3.5 Million. That includes Long Island, upstate, and all of NYC. Just to give you some perspective, CA has 14 million vehicles.

There are 10 million registered vehicles in the city of LA alone. Whoa.

I'm 19, can hardly pay full coverage as is let alone if I filed a claim for a hit and run. Just had to pay them out of pocket because either way that's what would happen here because my premiums would go up.

umm uninsured claims are treated as not at fault, if you dont have uninsured motorist you need to gain that on you policy. its very cheap compared to any other coverage

Also, with a $100 deductible, you never actually have to pay that. Almost any auto body shop will take my car to get the job, since they can tack on additional hours that won't be needed.

There are a million Camry bumpers tacked on every day, so adjusters can just look up the labor estimate in a book. A car with gnarly grill chrome pieces that's older than the adjuster is a dream for body shops, becuase they can easily make a front end job look really difficult.

The last few times, I told my body guy that if he wanted to fix my hood, he had to eat my $100 deductible, and also fix my loose drip rail moulding for free. He gladly accepted since he was going to bill a few hunderd for labor to remove grill and scoop stuff that he could actually work around. Having a shop pay your deductible is legal, BTW. I even told the adjuster from AAA that the shop would be picking up the deductible.

It wasn't an uninsured motorist, car was in parking like, another car hit mine while I was inside, come out to a body shop bill. Hit & run with no way to prove it wasn't my fault, I talked with my State Farm agent and even he told me (I do have full coverage btw) that I would end up paying for it because my rate would go up. My insurance is already insane so it just wasn't practical for me

I drive one of mine daily. Like the other said, I've upgraded to disc brakes and upgraded the steering and suspension.

I get about 16MPG solid. 302-4V automatic with 600cfm holley on a Performer intake.

That said, I try to avoid rain and forget ever driving it in the snow.
