Default easy h.p build up

i have a 67 coupe with a 289 that has a cam, 4bbl carb and long tube headers. Was original with 2bbl. What would be fairly easy on the wallet for more h.p.?

Recurve the distributor advance. If you're using a factory distributor (or even if it's aftermarket), chances are your advance curve is off. You'd be amazed at what a difference a properly adjusted advance will make on engine performance.

Aside from that, rear gears. They don't improve power, but they're one of the best performance upgrades you can make for the money.

None of those are likely to noticably increase performance. An aluminum intake is always a good idea, for weight savings if nothing else, but between that and roller rockers you're only going to pick up maybe 15hp (assuming the engine's in good tune). New lifters, unless they're rhoads lifters and he has a high-winding cam, aren't going to change anything.

I agree with starfury, roller rockers and intake wont make much difference, head work would be the next major step for some hp gain in my book. But thats not really in the easy category.
