+1
A 331/347 kit wouldn't be much more, and it would be much easier to make streetable power with the extra cubes.

well i was thinking for reliability and whatnot. if you think that and a supercharger would be that much better, i may just get a shortblock from ford strokers.... i really wish someone would make an affordable roots for a 351w like, the price of the 174
i also thought that 289 spun up real quick?

It all depends on how much you want to spend really. Stroker with stock heads would be pointless. A stroker with good heads and cam would probably make the same HP as the S/C on a stock engine.

well for the 408, it would be a fordstrokers short block with TFS heads most likely, vic jr intake, probably a custom cam. if not, something on the verge of not so street friendly

and the blown one would be just about the same thing.
i was affraid of having block problems with a blown 347 though.. would it be safe at all? on a stock block with a main girdle?

It all depends on the tune and boost level. 331 and a paxton would be a good setup too.

what do you think would be better? its more of a street car, but i want power for when i take it to the strip. do you think a 331 with the 174 would be better than a 408? i also want something more different, it seems that a lot of people have 408's

hmm, do i really need a 4340 crank and h beam rods for a 331 with a blower? and would a early block be better as well?

Everything really depends on what you want to do with the car.

i plan on mainly street driving, but going to the track as well. so a street/ strip car. im looking for ~400 to the wheels i dont THINK it would be too hard with a blown 331 depending on how much boost i could push.
