Default How do you remove the trunk hinges? (67 CP)

Any suggeestions on removing the trunk deck hinges? I started to unbolt the hinges and had second thoughts about it. The torsion rods are still installed and I worried that the release of that energy when unbolted might bust a knuckle, to say the least. Any suugestions on safely removing them would be appreciated and the next question might be how to safely re-install them? The hinges are the last items left bolted to the shell. Let the sheet metal work begin.

Thanks,

V

I pulled my rods first and nothing was safe about it. Just take your time and have eye protection

I just pulled the mounts and it all came apart without much ado. I haven't thought about how I'm going to put it back together.

Same... I removed the hood and then simply unbolted the hinges and removed them. Enough tension was there to hold the lid open but they weren't that tight whe I removed them.

As for going back on... they aren't!

yeah you can unbolt them with no worry.

but i moved mine around alot cause i dont have a set storage area for my junk, and the torsion bars pretty much exploded lol. it just didnt want to hold all together anymore so the bars shot off. and i dont know how to get them back together.
