Im running valvoline 10-30 VR 1 racing oil.

Its about a qt low and I dont want to spend 55 bucks for a qt of oil (only comes in cases of 12) Can I just dump a qt of 20-50 VR -1 racing oil on top of my 10-30 and be okay?

The final mix should be like 16W- 38 or something close to that.

you should be okay, wont really hurt anything as far as i know

Only time it will hurt is on a cold start because of the heavier weight

That's what I would say. Unless your in an extremely cold climate it's not going to make a difference.
