Default Inner Tie Rod

Is there any difference between the inner tie rod for a car with p/s and one without? I know the outer is different but I am not sure about the inner.

Thanks!

Well my issue is is that my tie rod hits my p/s valve (i posted that problem before) and the outer tie rod that is on the car right now is straight. I was looking at a pic from autozone website of a tie rod that is for a p/s car and I noticed it has curve in it which makes me think that whoever put the p/s in didnt change it to the correct tie rod. I am wanting to replace the outer and the sleeve since it is worn from rubbing the p/s valve and I am not sure if I need to replace the inner. That is why I am asking if its the same because if it is I wont worry about it but if its not I need to change it. Plus its about $20-$30 more than a outer tie rod..

Every store has to order it so they couldnt pull it to look at it either.

Hope that makes sense

Your 8 cylinder 66 Mustang with original PS uses a ES714 inner and a ES336L outer tie rod on the driver side. It uses a ES713 inner and a ES336R outer on the passenger side.

i know for a '65 with V8 & power steering theres a difference.

part numbers are:

ES713
ES714
ES336L
ES336R

the L & R are for the left and right as the bend is different, the 713 & 714 are different as the one has a bend in it to clear part of the steering

oops degins already took care of it haha.

also wtih you having a 66 i hope you didnt damage the PS valve. if you need to replace it the only way ive seen is buying the entire drag link and joint + valve which is $450

i havent looked much though, i should as the joint is shot on my 65

The valve seems in good shape.

Thanks for all the info.
