Default Mixed Feelings on this

My stepfather last Thursday was diagnosed with Leukemia. Being the big hearted guy he is last night he woke me up at their house after dinner (I seem to fall asleep on my nights off from work) and proceeded to give me new license plates and all the documentation to his 77 GMC Sierra Classic 3/4 ton pickup.

I know it's not a mustang but he wanted me to take it home and put it in my garage. As much as I love the truck I am hoping he can kick this (been taking Kemo since Monday) and stay around to enjoy it more.

I was honestly shocked and half asleep. I just wanted to ask if everyone would keep him in your prayers. He loves the classics and is the original owner on the truck.

Here are some pics (I hope it works) since I know that's what people like to see.

Thanks everyone for reading and viewing.

Well that sucks. At least he sees that you have the heart to keep his truck the way he would.. Thats honorable.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your stepfather and I hope he kicks this and gets to enjoy his truck for a long time. In the mean time, don't you dare change anything!

My grandmother has been fighting cancer for a few years now. Not a fun journey. Gorgeous truck, but I'd tell him to plan on holding onto it as long as possible.

Spend all the time you can with your family. It goes quickly and we never know if we get to see each other tomorrow.

Tell him you blew the motor chevy sux and the 2 tone is gahey!
I lost my mom to cancer almost 20 years ago just seemed like she got tired of fighting.
That should fire him up. LOL

Nah be honored that he cares that much for you and hope for the best but prepare for the worse. Make everyday as good as you can to let the man know how you feel good and bad.
Hoping everything works out through treatments for guys.

A gesture of that magnitude speaks highly of his thoughts for you.

I wish him and you all the best. That is a tough battle. In 1970 when I was 19 and my dad was 48 he went out for an evening drive. Two hours later he died when his car hit a bridge abutment. I can't even remember the last thing I said to him. You never know what the day will bring. If it turns out your time with your step father is limited at least you will know to make it the best quality you can.

I can identify. My Mom has just beat cancer for the second time and my Dad now has a heart condition that is inoperative.

Since this man cares for you enough to give you his cherished truck, if it were me I would find a GOOD place to keep it and take care of it for the rest of my life as if it were a pristine Model J Deusenburg.

BTW, my prayers are already with him and your family.

My $0.02,

My Dad has beaten cancer three times. My wife beat it once. It's a hard road, but with positive thoughts all things are possible. Tell him to eat LOTS of fruits and veggies. It can and will make a difference in his health and recovery. My wife started taking a supplement that helped alot. Now we all take it. Our thoughts are with you and him.
