Default EDL Electric Choke Problem

Recently the choke started acting up on my carb, when the car is cold the choke lever is not spring loading itself all the way to the closed position, it only goes about half way...so it wont idle when cold unless i pop the hood and flip the choke all the way down myself.

but then when the weather is a tad bit colder it will work properly and flip completely down and it idles no problem.

any way to get the choke to close completely no matter what the weather? the choke housing is already turned to the last notch on the bottom, should i just keep turning it to the right?

How cold is 'cold'? Automatic chokes need to be readjusted for weather changes, but I still don't think you should have it all the way at the bottom notch. It's too cold for that right now. If you want to swing by my place monday, I mightcould take a look at it

Cold as in haven't driven it for 2 days cold. Its like i can walk down at 7 AM and its spring loaded completely closed, all is well.

I walk down the next day at maybe 3 PM and its only springed half way closed, not hitting the idle screw and wont idle

Why would it be that sensitive to small degrees of weather change?

I would just keep turning it until you can start the car successfully, then let it idle for a few minutes to makes sure the choke still opens fully.

Have you recently made any adjustments to the carb including changing the air cleaner or retightening the mounting bolts? It could be the linkage is binding or catching. Make sure everything is clear and the linkage is clean and not corroded.

My car wont idle when cold, oh wait... I don't have a choke on the Mighty Demon... lol. No big deal, just rev it up some when you start it and wait for it to warm up a little bit.

The point is that it's a brand spankin new carb (we put it on a few weeks ago) and the choke isn't working quite right. I'll check it out when I get a chance and see what I can figure out.
