Default Matching Numbers

Hi, I am looking at buying a 1965 Fastback and am trying to determing if it is the original engine. Are there number on the engine to match with the VIN? I beleive there is but dont know where on the engine to find them. Thanks for the help.

Get the VIN number and start there. It should tell you a good deal about the car, and help determine if its matching #'s

There are no matching numbers on a 65. The only thing the VIN will tell you is that you either have an I6 or a 289 V8.

How to's and where to find's

#1 How and where to find your VIN#
Your title...under the hood...Think Dan has a pic we can use for this one...
#2 How and where to find your engine#s
under the starter...use the pic markstang did
and so on and so on...

just an idea... if its a stupid one, please disregard this post and don't turn on any lights in my office, cause I'm so hungover today the light from the monitor hurts my eyes.. [sm=icon_guiness.gif] ...
