Default New or Rebuild

Ok I selling my 68 fastback and am going to roll the money into my 69 Mach I clone. It has a 351W with low compression. Should I buy a new engine? Should I rebuild it? Rebuild and add a supercharger. Or should I have a stroker kit put into it? What should I expect to pay? I want to keep it betwee 4000-5000.

I'd rebuild (a 79/80 351w actually) it. Talk to your machine shop regarding the compression and they should eb able to help you out. Our later block has stock 8.2 comp I think and I'm looking to finish with around 9.5 with the new pistons and heads. I was thinking about stroking it out since it's being bored 30 over anyways but decided not to. Just rebuilding with something like the Edelbrock top end kit and new pistons.

If you want to keep a budger $4-5k then don't even think of putting a blower on it. You will "blow" right through that budget.

Yep. 1500 will go just to the fuel system, if you do it yourself !!
