Please Help me!!!
As some said before, you're better of just buying another and recreating how you remember it. Especially if money is no problem.
I've almost made that mistake, nearly sold mine 2 different times. But when it came down to it I just couldn't let it go. I'll probably have this car forever.

It is really easy. call a private title service company. one out of the phone book. you should have them contact the owner for you and see if he will sell it or get the story on it. by law they cant give you the info but i am 100% positive that they will contact hiim for you. it may take a while because rarely does the dmv keep phone #s on record. i bet it will cost you less than $80.
Thank you everyone for your insight into my troubled life of finding my car. I think you are all correct in that I should just give up this search for my car. I will however continue the search for another similar 66, manual transmission. If any of you come accross one in CA let me know. Thanks again everyone. I hope to come back to this thread with some good news!

I understand your pain. I know where my high school truck is at. I still can't get it back. My grandfather passed away and when he did my granddad left everything to my aunt and she refusses to give anything to my mother or any of her children. I offer more money each time that I see it even though it gets worse off everytime that I see it. No build is going to replace your high school vehicle no matter what. I've tried.
