Default Engine removal

How hace you guys removed your engine. Pull it from intake, heads, ie. Did you take the trans out with the motor, did you have the hood off. Seems like alot of weight to be held by just four top intake bolts if you use that carberator plate.

i pulled by carb plate with no probems, engine only though, i dropped the trans while the car was in the air, if you cant do this, you can pull both, i dont know if you can with the carb plate though

shoot i dont think the intake would have come of with no bolts in it, as hard as i tried to get it off when i tore down the motor

i took my hood off, unhooked/unbolted everything (motor mounts, tranny mount, lines, wires, etc.), took off the carb. and used an engine leveler hooked to my crane to lift the motor out along with the tranny. I bolted the leveler to the four corners of the intake and leveled it in different angles to ease removal. be careful to not damage or scratch anything unless you are doing it all over again.

I used a cap plate over the intake where the carb used to be and it worked perfect. I bought it at Orielly's for $10 and it used the old bolts that the Carb was held in by.

took out the engine and tranny all at once and didn't have a bit of trouble.
